Introduction to Vienna Metro

The Vienna U-Bahn is the rapid transit system serving Vienna, Austria. It consists of five operational lines (U1, U2, U3, U4, and U6) with additional lines under construction. The system began operation in 1976, although parts of the current network date back to the Vienna Stadtbahn opened in 1898. As of 2023, the operational network spans approximately 83 kilometers with 98 stations and serves about 1.6 million passengers daily, making it one of the most efficient and cleanest metro systems in Europe.
